The last couple of weeks have witnessed 'Quién Manda' (a Spanish They Rule of sorts) successfully reaching its key crowdfunding milestone in Goteo.
This is the most ambitious project carried out by Civio to date. The initial launch included a database with over 2.500 key documented power relationships, over 100 tagged photographs and a series of lead articles untangling relationships between Spanish public officials and private corporates.
The project's aim is to help raise awareness and drive change on the need for officials' agenda publishing and passing lobby regulation in Spain.
Unfortunately, Spain is a country with a pretty tightly-knit (and thus rather closed) business and political elite. One of the things that intrigues me most about this proyect is whether those of us behind it will experience negative repercussions (loss of business, damaged professional relationships, etc.) stemming from our involvement.
