As 2016 draws to a close, two things stand out as momentous achievements that I have yet to briefly write about.
On the Civio side, our data journalism facet obtained extraordinary international recognition, with our outstanding team of overachievers managing to secure not one, but two of the most highly coveted awards in the space: the Global Editors Network --Investigation of the Year (Small Newsroom)-- and the Gabriel García Márquez --Innovation-- prizes.
At Iris AI, on the other hand, progress has been nothing short of spectacular too. Our hard work putting together a budding company devoted to the dissemination of scientific knowledge leveraging machine learning technology merited a seat at the big boys' table, with our new venture selected to compete at TechCrunch Disrupt's Startup Battlefield in London.
And the best thing is that it feels like 2017's is going to be an ever better vintage year on both fronts.
Stay tuned!
