The Covid-19 pandemic has put an enormous amount of pressure on everything and everyone. In these new circumstances we all have to keep a close eye on our own health, and on that of those around us.
I have found out that, as someone with a specific vulnerability to infectious disease, the stress from the constant decision making as to what is my particular tolerable level of risk puts a real strain on daily activities.
This notwithstanding, I am very proud of the progress being made both at Iris.ai and Civio.
At Iris.ai we are finalizing delivery on the company’s most ambitious pilot project executed to date. Our algorithmic core has achieved a tested, state-of-the-art >90% accuracy rate –average of precision and recall metrics– in the task of extracting key data points from documents critical to our clients’ R&D processes and ongoing, innovation-based, product roadmap success. Having attracted cumulative total funding in excess of €4.2 million, we now have a product offering suited for both the academic and corporate R&D use cases.
At Civio, on the other hand, the amazing work done by the team in keeping up with the pandemic and its impact has received well-deserved praise. This includes a big hike in the number of small donors, now touching on the 1,000 monthly subscriber mark for the first time in the organization’s history, as well as attracting partnership interest from Amazon’s Alexa product team, or being mentioned as an example of journalistic best practices in most prestigious international media like the Washington Post –Spanish language edition–.
We have to stay strong for the tough times ahead. But everything is a lot easier when the teams one is part of combine the talent and the determination that I am fortunate enough to find around me. I feel truly fortunate to be able to witness first-hand the teams’ incredible work ethic day in and day out.
